Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through www.wsk-vision.org, how we use and share it, and what choices and rights you have. It applies to visitors from the United States and all other countries. Visitors in the European Union and the European Economic Area have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), described in Section 10.
1. Who We Are
This website is operated by WSK-Vision gGmbH, Kennedyallee 78, 60596 Frankfurt am Main, Germany (office@wsk-vision.org). WSK-Vision gGmbH is responsible for personal information collected through the website (the "controller" under the GDPR).
If you make a gift from the United States, your gift and the related information are processed by our US affiliate, American Friends of the Vienna Boys Choir, c/o Erwin Law Firm, 100 Crescent Court, Suite 700, Dallas, Texas 75201, USA, which is responsible for that information. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to both organizations, as applicable.
We have not appointed a data protection officer, as there is currently no legal obligation to do so (Art. 37 GDPR, Section 38 BDSG).
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us: When you register your interest, sign up for our newsletter, contact us or make a gift, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, region, your message and, for gifts, the amount and any designation of your gift.
If online giving is activated: Payment card and bank details are processed directly by our payment service provider. We do not store them.
Information collected automatically: When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records server log data transmitted by your browser (including IP address, date and time of access, page visited, referring URL and browser type). This data is needed to provide the website and keep it secure and is deleted after a short period.
Cookies: We use only cookies that are technically necessary and, with your consent, cookies set by embedded YouTube videos. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Fonts: The fonts on this website are stored on our own server. No connection is made to Google or other font providers.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiry and contact you personally
- To send you our newsletter and event invitations, if you have signed up for them
- To process gifts and issue gift acknowledgments and tax receipts
- To operate, secure and improve this website
- To comply with legal obligations, including tax, accounting and anti-money laundering rules
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share personal information only between WSK-Vision gGmbH and American Friends of the Vienna Boys Choir, to the extent needed to respond to you and to pursue our common mission; with our Senior Advancement Officers and with service providers acting on our behalf (for example hosting, email, newsletter and payment services), who are bound by confidentiality obligations; with the Wiener Sängerknaben; where required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Do Not Track
We do not track visitors across third-party websites or over time for advertising purposes. For this reason, "Do Not Track" browser signals do not change how we handle your information.
6. Embedded YouTube Videos
Some pages (e.g. Mother's Day Weekend) contain embedded videos from YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited. When a video is loaded, a connection to Google/YouTube servers may be established and data about your use may be processed, even if you do not play the video. Videos are therefore only loaded after you have given your express consent; until then, no connection to YouTube is established.
7. Children's Privacy
This website is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Photographs of choristers on this website are published with the consent of the Wiener Sängerknaben
8. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however.
We keep inquiry data for as long as your inquiry or any resulting supporter relationship continues and delete it afterwards, at the latest after three years, unless statutory retention periods apply. Gift records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
9. International Data Transfers
We operate in the United States and many other countries. Your information may therefore be transferred to, stored and processed in either country. Where personal data is transferred from the EU/EEA to the United States, we use appropriate safeguards under Art. 44 et seq. GDPR, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Your Choices and Rights
All visitors: You may ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you and request that we correct or delete it. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in every email or by contacting us.
